Each year Spring arrives with the promise of new things to come...again this year something traditional has a wonderful new twist...

Tap into the fun of the
Sixth March Maple Madness, Inn-to-Inn Maple tour.

Here in the White Mountains of New Hampshire, we are blessed with one of Mother Nature's wonders...the beautiful sugar Maples. Throughout summer their broad shadows shelter hikers and picnickers from the sun, cooling our mountain air. Of course, the entire world rushes to see them decked out in their dazzling autumn colors. And during our winters they stand as sentries over our ski slopes and trails as we enjoy adventures in the snow. Quietly, in late February and into March, with some variability, Mother Nature gives them her first kiss of spring and the Maple sap begins to flow. Yankee wizards then work their magic for six weeks or so, between the still frigid nights and blustery days to gather that sweet liquid in... and thru their alchemy, one of New Hampshire's most abundant resources produces one of New England's most sought-after treats.

For the sixth time, The Bed & Breakfasts Inn the Mount Washington Valley will host what has become an annual event, MARCH MAPLE MADNESS...not just another inn tour. On Saturday, March 27 and Sunday, March 28, between the hours of 11AM and 4PM, these historic inns will offer you the opportunity to experience a self-guided tour of the participating properties; sampling a wide spectrum of maple treats as you go...from the "Appealingly" sweet to "Zestfully" savory. Their front doors will be open to you, each uniquely decorated entrance welcoming springtime into the Mt Washington area.

While in transit, you will be invited to visit some of our Maple Country Partners©, neighbors who will greet you warmly and share their North Country stories, too. You'll be able to visit one or several Sugar Houses, should you choose, and see how the syrup is made, hear the facts and the folklore that surround New England's liquid gold.

For those who feel touring just isn’t enough

A wild and woolly inn-to-inn event held together by maple syrup and wacky fun ... with prizes galore!

For those ticket holders who are a bit more daring, here is an opportunity to win prizes worth hundreds of dollars, fame throughout the land, and a chance for some great fun. Go ahead, take the "Hare Raising Quiz" or, better yet, find the pieces to the "Maddening Scavenger Hunt".

Along the trail there will be places, people, and things to visit, find, retrieve. And for extra points, bring your own digital, Polaroid, or video camera to document suggested photo ops.

The participant who accomplishes every dictate on the Maple Madness - March©, and scores the most points, will win a bundle of prizes including: A $200 certificate good toward a two-night stay at any participating Inn, a supply of maple syrup, and a basket of goodies from our participating Inns and Maple Country Partners©.

All completed Maple Madness - March forms which are entered will be reviewed by a panel of judges of dubious qualification. Their awarding of extra points will be based on originality, creativity, and whimsy. Their opinions may be meaningless, but will be final (like any governmental body!).
